Drivers (Volunteer commitment: flexible & subject to demand)
Our volunteer drivers either transport essential supplies (eg. emergency prescriptions) or people needing lifts who have no friends, family or neighbours who can step in and help.
Typical situations include people who need getting to / from hospital appointments or people looking to access other HTL services such as our community meals. To be able to volunteer in this manner it is essential that volunteers maintain a road worthy vehicle (insured for charitable use, MOT’ed, taxed, correct tyre treads / pressures etc) and have a safe driving record. In return we offer 45p per mile for driving directly linked to requests volunteers fulfil for us. Note: This role requires volunteers to have a DBS check, paid for by Hands Together Ludlow.
Volunteers can do this at times to suit their own personal schedules.
