Transport

Rural areas pose particular challenges to vulnerable people and people on a very tight budget.  Our volunteers help people ensure that, as far as possible, lack of access to transport doesn’t reduce their quality of life.

  • We help signpost people to flexible travel solutions including various community transport charities in our area and organisations offering transport for hospital appointments
  • Our volunteers are sometimes able to provide transport for important events and meetings for people unable to travel to these events by taxi or through lifts from friends, family or neighbours.
  • We provide subsidised weekly transport for people who cannot travel to and from our weekly community lunches and afternoon teas by any other means.
  • If you have an important event to get to or lack of access to transport is preventing you from getting out and meeting people please call our community helpline – 01584 873 062 - for more advice and information.
