The Tuesday Community Lunch (Volunteer commitment: 1.5 – 4 hrs per shift)
Our volunteers provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere every Tuesday lunchtime at Helena Lane (behind the Catholic Church) for people who benefit from a health hot meal along with company and conversation, all provided by our volunteers. Volunteer roles include:
- Lead volunteer: Organises the volunteer rota and overseas each event
- Kitchen volunteers: Help prepare and hot and healthy two course meals. We will provide training and pay for you to complete a Food Preparation Level 2 certificate.
- Front of house volunteers: Welcome people, record attendances, transport requests and take payment. They also circulate and chat as needed, making sure everyone is involved, helping new people settle in.
Volunteers can do this at times to suit their own personal schedules.
